Frequently Asked Questions

What will it cost me?

Our prices are simple:

We have flat rate moving, which will include any travel fees, material costs or service fees.

This rate will be quoted to you on the phone or by email.

After that, we charge by the half-hour, at a clear and reasonable rate. No funny stuff – and no surprises. Just great service.

Unlike other moving companies who charge you ‘dock to dock’ fees-charging you for the time ‘it may’ take them to get there.

Our clock starts when we arrive and ends when we leave – fair and simple.

Plus, our movers don’t ‘milk the clock’ or take their time. Everyone of our clients is amazed at how quick we work. Your things are moved safely and efficiently, in way less time than other companies. We take pride in this. Because of this work ethic that we book mostly through referral.

- Movers

- Truck

- Dollies

Ropes

- Furniture pads

- Stretch Wrap

- Basic tools

- Standard level of insurance

- Local travel time (free)

- Stairs (free)

- Heavy items (free)

- Furniture disassembly and reassembly (free)

- Fast, fun, and professional service. (always included!)

What types of payments do you accept?

We are able to accept Visa, MasterCard, or cash. We do not accept American Express.

Payment is due at the completion of your move.

Do you move pianos or appliances?

Unfortunately we are not able to move pianos or appliances. Unless previously noted in writing. The issue is that our standard trucks are not equipped to handle them. Small electric pianos under 50 pounds are not an issue at all, and we will happily transport them.

How long will our move take?

Your moving time will depend on a few key components:

The number of boxes, pieces of furniture, or delicacy of certain items are main factors.

We’ve seen whole houses get moved in literally a few hours and conversely small apartments take ages. Packing and organization are the keys to a quick-and even cheap move.

Packing tips:

**Using medium, to larger sized boxes of a similar size makes for easy carrying, easy transport on dollies, and easy packing into the truck.

**Keep a clear workspace. This allows us to move quickly and efficiently, and keeps a safe working space.

Toronto traffic and distance are the main factors to consider in local moving and relocation. The time of day will certainly account for how long it will take between pick-up and drop-off. If possible plan your Toronto move before or after rush hours. We don’t mind early starts to avoid congestion on the roads and highways.

1 bedroom: 3 – 4.5 hours

2 bedroom: 4– 6 hours

3 bedroom: 4 – 7 hours

*Timing is estimated

What is your service area?

We are located downtown Toronto, so as a general rule we will only take on projects that begin in Toronto. We often finish out of town, however at the end of the month and during the snowy season we mostly book local moves.

What if I have bugs?

There are a lot of good people out there that are in bad situations where they find that their homes become infested with different types of bugs. Unfortunately we’re not able to help them in anyway. We have a zero bug policy. In cases were people are not honest and up-front about having bugs after we begin loading our truck, we will stop the move immediately and they will be subject to a $250 fee to help us rent a replacement truck and cover the cost of fumigation

Do you offer hoisting service?

Unfortunately due to a multitude of liabilities and the danger involved we do not offer hoisting.

Can you take apart furniture and assemble it?

We will help you take apart or reassemble your furniture on the day of your move. This service is part of our hourly rate. Obviously if you are looking for the most cost effective move you should consider doing this for yourself. On average it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to disassemble or assemble pieces like your bed. Certain Ikea or West Elms beds for example, can take much longer as they have up to 50 screws and bolts located in tricky areas. If your elevator times are an issue then you should have us come in up to an hour in advance of your elevator time to help.

Can you move our plants?

We can, although it is strongly recommended that you move them yourself if you are able. They will be packed in with the rest of your belonging, which is not ideal for them. They will be exposed to outdoor conditions.

Do you move outdoor planters?

The general rule is no. If they are of reasonable size and are dry we will consider it. We also definitely don’t move small trees.

What else don’t you move?

We cannot transport gas tanks from BBQ’s, paint, live animals, combustibles, corrosives, soil, pets or guns.

Kitty litter boxes should be emptied and cleaned.

Fish tanks may also be an issue depending on the size. If we do agree to move them they should be totally emptied.
